When it comes to eating good food, sauces are EVERYTHING. They just make food taste better. It doesn’t matter if you’re dipping, dunking, or drenching…it’s just the best way to add flavor. BUT if you are trying to eat macro-friendly, then all those yummy sauces can add up quickly. So instead of giving up on your faves entirely, you can try any of my homemade macro-friendly sauces that are light enough to drizzle on everything and taste good too! For me, it’s seriously the key to making macro-counting delicious and sustainable. And this Cucumber Dill Sauce is no different.

Use this Cucumber Dill Sauce on your pitas, Greek Tostadas, or some Mediterranean Nachos with CutdaCarb wraps as the chips. However you use it, it’s sure to be delicious. And it’s light enough that you could drink it–but I’m not saying you should drink it….

What You’ll Need to Make Cucumber Dill Sauce:

Making this Cucumber Dill Sauce is easier than you think. Like all my sauce recipes, with a few ingredients and herbs, you’ve got the makings of a GREAT sauce. For this one, just throw everything into your favorite blender or food processor, and you’re done!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Non-fat Greek Yogurt
  • Garlic
  • Red wine vinegar
  • Fresh dill
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Cucumber
  • Fresh Mint
  • Avocado
  • Jalapeno
  • Salt

And the key to this recipe is NOT to skip the fresh mint or dill. I always worry people will skip the sauce because it’s one more step. Or skip the dill or mint because there was a time I swore I didn’t like those either. But it’s so good and MAKES THE MEAL.

Serving Suggestions for this Cucumber Dill Sauce:

Using this Cucumber Dill Sauce couldn’t be easier. I really support its magical, fresh, creamy, herby drizzling effects anywhere you feel inspired.

It does pair really well with any Greek or Mediterranean-inspired dishes like these Greek Marinated Chicken Skewers or these Greek Pitas

Or if you get my cookbook, ONE, there are TONS of good recipes to pair with it since I made this recipe with that cookbook in mind. You can actually find this sauce tucked into the jars section of ONE

How to Use Sauces in Your Meal Plan:

Using macro-friendly, homemade sauces is a STAPLE in my weekly meal planning. I always plan to make at least one or two to store in the fridge for the week to put on just about everything. Having a prepped protein and macro-friendly sauce in the fridge are two KEY components to counting macros for me (you can read more about that here).

As an example, you can prep this Cucumber Dill Sauce and use it for Greek Chicken bowls the first night, Greek pitas the third, and for a green salad with chicken as a lunch during the week. That way you can use the sauce and protein all week long without eating the SAME thing every day.

Of course, when you’re feeding your whole family and trying to count macros, meal planning can feel like a lot. I’ve been eating this way for YEARS now, so I wanted to share these easy, delicious meal plans with all of you. But it just hasn’t been a possibility until recently, and I’m SO excited.

The meal plan is just dinners for now, but I feel that’s the hardest puzzle piece to figure out for most people anyway. In the meantime, whip up this Cucumber Dill Sauce to make your lunches feel a little more special too, or add an extra serving on the dinners in the meal plan web app to have as leftovers!

Is this Cucumber Dill Sauce Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free?

This sauce is gluten-free, but it isn’t dairy-free. To make it dairy-free, you are going to have to swap out the Greek yogurt. I’ve never made it that way, but you can find some of my FAV dairy-free alternatives here.
