Salads are delicious, especially with a yummy dressing. And while we all have our favorite go-to dressings, it can be hard to find a macro-balanced commercially available dressing that also tastes good. But this Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette is perfect!

Lillie Eats and Tells

When I have this dressing made up in the fridge, it’s great on everything. It’s herby and a little vinegary. It’s light on oil so the vinegar taste is definitely there, but I love that.

Sometimes when I’m keeping things extra light, I like to just toss my salad in my favorite Baker & Olive Peach or Lemon Vinegar. Or when I need a little bit more fat, I love this Easy Lemon Mustard True Vinaigrette

But if you’re needing something more in between, simply whip this Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette up and keep it in your fridge to use on salads all week long!

What You’ll Need to Make this Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette:

The ingredients for this Apple Cider Vinaigrette are so simple but come together to make a flavorful dressing for all your salads.

Here’s what you need…

  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • fat-free Greek yogurt
  • grainy Dijon mustard
  • shallot, chopped
  • freshly squeezed orange juice
  • honey
  • salt & pepper
  • olive oil
  • chopped fresh basil

If you don’t have any apple cider vinegar, you can also use white balsamic vinegar instead.

When it comes to the olive oil, you can use whatever one you like–but Baker and Olive also has a really great flavor-infused olive oils.

How to Make Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette:

This dressing is super easy to make. With some simple whisking (or shaking), you’ll have the perfect dressing.

Start by whisking the first seven dressing ingredients together (apple cider vinegar through salt and pepper).

Then, slowly add the oil while whisking. Stir in the basil. OR shake it all in a jar! You can just use a simple mason jar, if you decide to shake it.

Serving Suggestions:

This dressing will go well with just about any salad. Drizzle this dressing on top of a bed of greens of choice with your favorite protein (like this Balsamic Herb Grilled Chicken here).

But if you want some specific recipes, I have a lot on the blog! One of my favorites would be this Berry and Goat Cheese Salad

Is this Creamy Apple Cider Vinaigrette Gluten-Free and Dairy-free?

This dressing is naturally gluten-free, but it isn’t dairy-free. To make it dairy-free, you’d have to replace the Greek yogurt with a dairy-free alternative.

To find all my favorite dairy-free swaps, you can read this blog post here.

Of course, if you want a sauce that’s dairy-free as written, I have a few of those on the blog too like this Dairy-Free Basil Pesto or Dairy-Free Green sauce. Enjoy!

When counting macros, you should be able to eat real food that tastes good without compromising your goals. If you want to eat healthy and macro-balanced, but don’t know where to start, then my cookbooks are for you!

I have 5 different cookbooks: LEAT, Crunch Wraps (a mini cookbook), One, Planned, and One More Time (a sequel to One). When I make a poll on Instagram, the majority favorite is always One–but LEAT and Planned are also fan favorites and more similar to how my family eats on a regular basis.

LEAT and Planned are based around prepping a protein (or two) for the week, then using it throughout the week for different meals. It’s actually the same process I used to base my weekly meal plan subscription on. Sign-up for my weekly macro-friendly meal plan here!

One and One More Time are one-dish meals that are macro-friendly but also work for the entire family. Every cookbook is easy to use and all the macros have been calculated for you and uploaded into Macros First, My Fitness Pal, and Lose It for easy tracking.
