Everyone needs a quick go-to condiment that is full of flavor. Especially when it comes to whipping up delicious macro foods. Macro-friendly food is supposed to taste just as good as un-macro-friendly food. And you know me…it’s my mission because flavor is everything. So treat yourself to something yummy and try this macro-friendly Calabrian chili mayo. It’s my new favorite. I’ve been spreading it on my wraps, sandwiches, tacos, and all my fried egg BLT. Trust me, you are going to love it!
What You’ll Need to Make Macro-friendly Calabrian Chili Mayo:
- Mayo (I like using Kraft avocado mayo)
- Forager plant-based sour cream (or sub non-fat Greek yogurt)
- Jarred Calabrian chili peppers
How to Make Macro-friendly Calabrian Chili Mayo:
If you’re looking to add the perfect macro-friendly condiment to your meal, you need to try this Calabrian chili mayo. It’s so simple (and delicious) that you’re going to start using it on EVERYTHING! My current favorite way to indulge is spreading this mayo on a fried egg BLT.
When I say simple, we are talking 3 tasty ingredients. That’s it! Mayo, sour cream, and jarred Calabrian chili peppers. Hard to believe it could be that simple while tasting so good. But, just trust me and grab those ingredients.
Is This Recipe Dairy-free?
One of the best things about this recipe is that it’s naturally gluten-free and dairy-free because I like using Kraft avocado mayo and Forager plant-based sour cream. If you can’t find Forager plant-based sour cream, you can also sub in non-fat Greek yogurt. The recipe will still be dairy free as long as you stick to the dairy-free “yogurt” option. Just keep in mind the macros will be slightly different, but not too far off.
Once you’ve got your ingredients, throw them into a bowl and simply stir them together. Doesn’t get much simpler than 3 ingredients and stirring together. Somehow the simplicity makes it taste even better! I’m not sure how that happens, but it does!

Macro-friendly Meal Prep
This recipe is super quick and easy to make in the moment, but it would also be great to prep ahead of time and have on hand for sandwiches, wraps, and tacos. I usually do most of my meal prep on Sunday to get ready for the week. P.S. macro-friendly Calabrain chili mayo is super delicious as a drizzle too! To drizzle it, you will want to thin it out. Just add a little water or red-wine vinegar.
Serving Suggestions:
We love using this macro-friendly Calabrian chili mayo on sandwiches, wraps, tacos, etc. It’s also great when thinned out and used as a drizzle. You are going to use it on pretty much everything.

This is delicious! But wow it was hot! I am a spicy food lover but as-is it was way too hot for me as a condiment. I added some maple syrup and a bit more Mayo/sour cream and it balanced it out a bit more. I had to by my chilis online so it’s entirely possible that’s why they were hotter. Still delicious, though!

Seems the Calabrian peppers are hard to find where I am. Is there a good more common pepper substitute?
Thx!! Love your recipes!
Hi! I also love chipotle peppers! Sold in a small can…
I can recommend Silafunghi Calabrian chilis from Olive Oil of the World. They directly import them in olive oil. The Calabrian chili sauce they sell is excellent as well : http://www.oliveoiloftheworld.com 😋
