Dressings and sauces are EVERYTHING to me. And while there are plenty of store-bought dressings that taste amazing, this creamy honey chipotle vinaigrette rivals anything you can buy at the grocer. It is quick and easy to make and tastes INCREDIBLE. Simply store it in the fridge and grab it during the week to drizzle on all your favorite salads and bowls!

Honey Chipotle Vinaigrette Ingredients

If you’re a fan of chipotle peppers, then you’ll love this easy-to-make sauce! The honey and chipotle come together so well, that you’ll want to put this chipotle vinaigrette on everything.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this creamy honey chipotle vinaigrette:

  • Nonfat Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt
  • Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Light (in color) balsamic vinegar, or red wine vinegar
  • Frozen garlic cubes or minced garlic cloves
  • Honey
  • Kosher salt

And that’s it! Once you have all your ingredients assembled, you’re ready to make this amazing chipotle vinaigrette.

Now, you can mix all the ingredients for the perfect salad dressing or creamy sauce to drizzle on taco salads, bowls, crunch wraps, and more.

Ingredient Notes

Before you dive into this recipe, I have a few tips on these chipotle vinaigrette ingredients.

I LOVE using frozen garlic Dorot cubes in my recipes that call for garlic! They are so easy to use, and they don’t leave your hands smelling like garlic for hours afterward. Simply pull a garlic cube out of the freezer and let it come to room temperature while you’re grabbing all your ingredients (it thaws quickly!). Once thawed, add it to your recipes just like you would with fresh garlic. Super simple! And if you can’t find these at the store, no worries! Regular garlic will work just fine.

Also, I need to mention Baker and Olive. Baker and Olive has the most delicious premium olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars! This recipe calls for light balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar, but I love to use my lemon or jalapeño Baker & Olive vinegar to take it next level! My all-time favorite flavors are peach and lemon. But you can’t go wrong with any of them. Shop through my Flagship store for a discount!

How to Make Chipotle Vinaigrette

Ready to make this tasty dressing? It’s crazy easy and ready in less than 5 minutes! Here’s how to make chipotle vinaigrette:

  1. Gather the Ingredients. Grab the non-fat Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt), blended chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce, fresh lime juice, chopped cilantro, light balsamic vinegar (or red wine vinegar), garlic, honey, and Kosher salt. And don’t forget to add the olive oil as well!
  2. Make the Chipotle Vinaigrette. Instead of making this chipotle vinaigrette in a food processor or blender, you can just mix it in a jar for ease! Add all your ingredients to a mason jar and shake vigorously until all the ingredients are mixed well.
  3. Store and Enjoy. Store the vinaigrette in an airtight container in the fridge. Add it to all your favorite recipes, including salads, wraps, bowls, and more!

Is this Honey Chipotle Vinaigrette Gluten-free and Dairy-free?

This chipotle vinaigrette recipe is naturally gluten-free, but it isn’t dairy-free unless you use dairy-free yogurt.

If you need this vinaigrette to be dairy-free, you can substitute the non-fat Greek yogurt for a dairy-free version. I like using either non-fat Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt interchangeably depending on what I need to watch at the given time. I also love the Forager Project® plant-based sour cream for a dairy-free “yogurt.”

Enjoy this creamy honey chipotle vinaigrette on salads, bowls, or drizzled-on tacos. It’s especially delicious on taco bowls! This dressing tastes so good that we love to make a big batch at the beginning of the week, then store it in the fridge in an airtight container to use all week long.

  1. You say to use light balsamic and mention flavoured ones so just want to confirm that these flavoured ones can be used here. I have a delish peach one, too!

  2. Just made this today for my salad- oh my goodness, SO delicious!! Can’t wait to put it on EVERYTHING!!

  3. 5 stars
Lillie is the queen of sauces. I love all of hers and how macro-friendly they are! This one was perfectly spicy and FULL of flavor. We used it on wraps with air fryer crispy pork on salads and in wraps and it was AMAZING!

  4. This is delicious! I made it with Forager dairy-free sour cream. Then I used it as the dressing for your Mexican chicken salad, leaving out the dairy in that recipe. It was amazing!
