Cottage cheese is so delicious and versatile. You can use it in your breakfast bowls as a protein-rich base, or add it to a cheesy dish to keep it more macro-friendly. For me, cottage cheese works in both savory and sweet recipes. It’s like MAGIC. So if you’re a cottage cheese fan, here are 5 of my favorite cottage cheese recipes for you to try.

Cottage Cheese Recipes from Lillie Eats and Tells

#1 The Best Yogurt and Cottage Cheese Breakfast Bowl

This yogurt and cottage cheese breakfast bowl is the best. It fills that hole in my heart for a big acai bowl! Without a hundred carbs.

I love this bowl, especially with all the toppings, and we all know that toppings are everything. Find what I love on top of my cottage cheese bowl here

#2 Chicken Marinara

Chicken Marinara with Cottage Cheese

This Chicken Marinara is the perfect, comforting meal that’s still easy to fit in your macros with enough room to still have your favorite chocolate shake at night. IYKYK.

In this recipe, the cottage cheese is blended up…so there aren’t any of those delicious cheese curds that I love so much! But some of you hate.. haha. It’s a great cottage cheese meal for those who are iffy about cottage cheese, but also for those of us who LOVE cottage cheese with our whole hearts.

And if you do decide to make this Chicken Marina, it’s sure to be a hit. My whole entire family loves it, and so many of you who have made it already love it too. Get all the details here

#3 Quick and Easy Breakfast Nachos

Nachos are delicious, but they don’t always leave you feeling your very best. That’s why I love these quick and easy breakfast nachos. They’re so light that you can eat them every day and still feel good.

Quick and Easy Breakfast Nachos with cottage cheese

And in this cottage cheese recipe, the cottage cheese isn’t super noticeable. It’s so easy to make–just add the cottage cheese with the eggs before cooking, and you’ll have extra fluffy, creamy scrambled eggs to add to your heaping plate of breakfast nachos

For the chips, I use my FAVE Cut Da Carb wrap, as if I didn’t need another reason to love them even more. You can get more Cut Da Carb wrap recipes here

If you get the 24-pack, make sure to use the code LILLIE10 to save you a little off the top.

#4 Apple Crisp Yogurt and Cottage Cheese Bowl

This yogurt and cottage cheese bowl is so simple and easy to make. It’s really just combining all your ingredients together in one bowl and enjoying. I love many different kinds of cottage cheese and yogurt bowls, but this one is perfect for the season! This bowl is inspired by classic, mouth-watering apple crisp.

Of course, this doesn’t replace apple crisp but it does have some of the same flavors. This cottage cheese recipe is so simple, and it makes the perfect afternoon snack or protein-packed breakfast. No matter when you enjoy it, it’s sure to become a fav.

#5 Skillet Zucchini Lasagna

This Skillet Zucchini Lasagna is GREAT for busy nights because it’s made all in one dish. It’s a cozy and comforting meal without all the mess. A total win. To make it, you do need an oven-safe skillet that can go in the oven and on the stove. I like to use this one here–a total staple at my house.

For the cottage cheese in this lasagna, you simply mix it with parmesan cheese to make a yummy cheesy blend. You can even leave the cheesy mix chunky or blend it up with a little bit of milk. It’s just your preference. All the details for this lasagna are on the blog here. Enjoy!

Bonus Macro-friendly Cottage Cheese Recipe:

Cottage cheese is so versatile, and it can really be used just about anywhere to add more protein without changing the flavor! One of my favorite ways is in this macro-friendly *almost* classic cottage cheese chicken salad! It’s got all the classic flavors of chicken salad, but with less fats, making it SO much easier to fit into your macros on a daily basis.

This one is so yummy, and the perfect thing to make and keep in the fridge all week long for a quick snack or easy lunch!

Suggestions for these Macro-friendly Cottage Cheese Recipes:

When it comes to cottage cheese, I love Knudsen’s Low-Fat the best. It’s seriously my favorite. I know a lot of people love the Good Culture brand, and that’s good too. I just can’t make the switch from Knudsen’s–it’s just too good.

If you’re looking for gluten-free and dairy-free options, it’s important to note that cottage cheese is gluten-free but obviously not dairy-free. Most of the recipes have their own dairy-free and gluten-free suggestions, but you can also find my favorite dairy-free alternatives here and go-to gluten-free products here

And if you want more of a cottage cheese snack instead of a meal, I reach for this cottage cheese toast all the time. You can find the recipe tucked in this reel. So good. A staple for sure. Enjoy!
