Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I wanted to share some of my all-time FAVORITE Thanksgiving recipes! I’ve collected these recipes over the years and they’ve become must-haves for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Most of these are from fellow food bloggers, but you’ll see a few of my own recipes as well. So here you go, my favorite Thanksgiving recipes. Enjoy!
Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes
From a bite of juicy turkey to a sweet slice of pie, I love ALL the delicious foods associated with Thanksgiving dinner. I don’t worry too much about counting macros on the holidays but I do like the option of serving a few lightened up dishes. These are my go-to thanksgiving recipes for turkey, sides, and dessert.
Turkey
Ross always smokes the turkey and I LOVE it. The pressure is off me for this Thanksgiving menu item which is so nice because then I can focus on the sides and desserts. For the turkey we use this Roasted Citrus-Herb Spatchcocked Turkey recipe from Traeger and add this buttery herb rub. I can tell you from experience that it makes for the tastiest turkey.
If you don’t have a Traeger Grill, no problem! If you’re planning to cook your turkey in the oven, I recommend this Herb and Butter Roasted Turkey with White Wine Pan Gravy from Half-Baked Harvest, it looks so delicious.

Sides
I love a good turkey, but I have to admit I’m totally here for the Thanksgiving sides. You can find so many yummy thanksgiving recipes for sides, here are a few I’ve collected.
Rolls: I ALWAYS make these Delicious Dinner Rolls from HowDoesShe. They are the perfect homemade crescent rolls, covered in butter, and baked until golden brown. Trust me, these do not disappoint.
Mashed Potatoes:Â Mashed potatoes are a Thanksgiving staple so you know it’s going to be on our plate. For this particular side dish, it’s nice to have a lighter, healthier option along with something classic. For a lightened up version of mashed potatoes, try the Mashed Potatoes and Cauliflower recipe from my meal plan. It includes potatoes, fresh cauliflower, cottage cheese (for some extra creaminess and protein), and of course milk and butter.
If you’re looking for something a little more classic for your mashed potatoes, I recommend this House Mashed Potatoes from How Sweet Eats. It’s full of tips for how to get the richest, creamiest mashed potatoes.
Stuffing:Â Stuffing is one of those traditional Thanksgiving side dishes that you can tweak to be as classic or unique as you want. This Buttery Herb Stuffing from How Sweet Eats is an amazing classic version. It’s full of savory, herby flavors with a toasted golden crunch on the bread. Would definitely recommend.
If you’re looking to change up your stuffing game, I found this Butternut Squash and Wild Mushroom Stuffing from Half-Baked Harvest and it looks tasty and unique. The mixed mushrooms, butternut squash, and asiago cheese really make for an elevated stuffing.
Salad: I like adding my Harvest Chopped Kale Salad to the Thanksgiving table for some extra greens that still going along with the autumn vibe. This recipe calls for chicken, but I usually skip it since I’m going for more of a side salad and we’re already serving turkey. Packed with chopped kale, apples, dried cranberries, and more, my Harvest Salad is a wonderful and fresh Thanksgiving recipe.
Here are some other vegetable side dishes you should check out if you’re wanting to add some extra freshness to your meal.
- Maple Cumin Roasted Carrots
- Balsamic Roasted Veggies from my meal plan
- Parmesan, Lemon, and Herb Crusted Delicata Squash with Crispy ShallotsÂ
Sweet Potatoes: Â I LOVE sweet potatoes. I make them all fall and winter long, not just for Thanksgiving. This is another one of those traditional Thanksgiving side dishes that you can alter to be sweet, savory, classic, or unique. Here are a few of my favorite sweet potato recipes.
- Roasted Sweet Potato Halves
- Super Simple Roasted Sweet Potatoes
- Â Lightened Up Healthy Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Oat Streusel from Ambitious Kitchen
Desserts
So obviously when it comes to Thanksgiving the first thing that comes to mind for dessert is pie! My family LOVES this Chocolate Pie from the Pioneer Woman. It’s easy to make and super yummy. Another pie-related dessert we like is this Layered Pumpkin Pie Toffee Cheesecake from Our Best Bites. The combination of all these flavors in a creamy cheesecake is unreal.

We also love cobblers around this time of year and this Blackberry Cobbler from the Pioneer Woman is a favorite at our house! I would totally serve this for Thanksgiving even though it’s technically a summer recipe (but I won’t tell if you won’t). Speaking of desserts that aren’t technically Thanksgiving desserts, Ross LOVES The Best Coconut Cake from The Salted Sweets, so who knows… we might break all the rules this year!
