Like most of us, I LOVE Trader Joe’s. They have great prices on quality produce, so many yummy dips and sauces, and some fun pantry staples you can’t get anywhere else. I talk a lot about these items in my recipes, and have an old post with some favorites, but decided it was time for a fresh Trader Joe’s list of favorites.

Egg Wraps

You know I’m currently OBSESSED with the Trader Joe’s Egg Wraps! It only makes sense with lead with these guys. And before you thank me for changing your life, I feel like I should admit that I stocked up before sharing… but these are too important to me.

They’re made essentially of a little egg and gluten-free flours. They’re as light as you’re gonna get for something this size at just 30 calories per large wrap; 1 fat, 1 carb and 4 protein! Cold out of the package they’re NOTHING special. But don’t be deceived! Fry them in some cheese like I do for my cheese fried egg wrap breakfast taco… and they transform into something amazing! They make the perfect low-carb (nearly zero carb) vehicle for just about anything.

And because I know you’ll ask, yes they freeze well! I keep a stack of these in my outside freezer. And pray they never stop selling them.

Vegan Creamy Dill Dressing

Trader Joe’s Vegan Creamy Dill Dressing is one of my FAVORITES. I keep a few stocked in my outside fridge. It’s super creamy and herby, and happens to be vegan if you like that! We use it on salads, pitas, bowls, sandwiches, or for dipping veggies.

Vegan Tzatziki

Creamy, herby, and refreshingly tangy, Trader Joe’s Vegan Tzatziki is one of my all-time favorite products. I may like it even better than the classic Tzatziki. It’s so creamy and flavorful. You can use it as a dip, spread, or even to add something extra to your own homemade sauce.

We use it in our favorite Greek pitas, but also tossed into most of our salads!

Vegan Pesto

My girls are obsessed with the Vegan Pesto at Trader Joe’s. If we don’t have our favorite homemade pesto in the fridge, they are spreading Trader Joe’s Vegan Pesto on every chicken sandwich, salad, burger…wrap. It’s a must-have over here at our house.

Cilantro Dressing

If I don’t have a homemade cilantro dressing in the fridge, Trader Joe’s Cilantro Dressing is perfect for Mexican Caesar salads. It’s light, refreshing, and herby. All of my favorite things! It’s not dairy-free, so this one doesn’t work for Sophia. But you can taste the cotija cheese… so at least it’s dairy for a good cause! Ha. Yum.

Jarred Calabrian Chilis

If you’ve ever wondered where I get my Calabrian chilis for my Calabrian Chili Mayo, I always grab the Italian Bomba Hot Pepper Sauce aka Fermented Crushed Calabrian Chili Peppers at Trader Joe’s. It gives the right amount of kick to any recipe.

Jarred Harissa

I’ve been playing around with Harissa recipes like the Harissa sheet pan meal and Harissa mayo. When I’m creating these recipes I always reach for Trader Joe’s jarred Harissa. It makes everything so simple and easy.

Toasted Slivered Almonds

Trader Joe’s has a huge selection of nuts and dried fruits. One of my favorite Trader Joe’s items that I use almost every day is the toasted slivered almonds. Not to be confused with the sliced almonds. The shape matters! These ones have so much more bite… I’m obsessed. I store in the freezer and it makes them seem even crunchier. I don’t know if it’s in my head and I don’t care. The best.

I have a handful of the toasted slivered almonds, chopped even smaller, on my nightly shake EVERY NIGHT. Amongst other things, haha. So good.

Frozen Garlic Cubes

I use the Dorot frozen garlic cubes from Trader Joe’s in pretty much every recipe I ever write. Frozen garlic cubes simplify your cooking and keep your hands smelling good! I’ll go to my grave saying you won’t even miss fresh garlic. This is not like using jarred garlic (not a fan!) The quality of fresh garlic is preserved when frozen and it’s still so good, but SO SO EASY.

When you use as much garlic as me, you need short cuts. That don’t taste like a jar.

Frozen Rice

If I’m not stocked on the shelf stable Costco brown rice, my other go-to for my family is the frozen brown rice from Trader Joe’s. It makes weeknight meals so much easier to throw together! You just throw a little pouch in your microwave for three minutes and it’s perfect and sticky and delicious. None of this fall-apart-minute-rice nonsense. It’s the best. My kids are usually partial to brown, but their jasmine rice is also SO GOOD.

Grated Pepper Jack Pepper

When I am grabbing my egg wraps from Trader Joe’s I also grab grated pepper jack. It’s my favorite for frying on the outside!

Purple Rind Toscana Cheese Soaked in Syrah

When I’m making a cheese board, theToscana cheese soaked in Syrah (it’s the wedge with the purple rind) is an absolute must. It’s a nutty, aged-Parmesan-like cheese that is infused with a ripe fruity Syrah wine. Everyone ALWAYS asks where it’s from and it’s ALWAYS the first to go off a cheese board. Every time. IT’S THE BEST.

Arugula

Trader Joe’s arugula just seems superior to anywhere else. We obviously use it for salads, but it’s the best green to top a burger, sandwich, stuff in a pita, or garnish a pizza. You can even use it in place of basil in your pesto or Caprese salad for a hint of spiciness. If you follow me on instagram, you know I have arugula running through my veins at this point.

My Favorite Trader Joe’s Products

  1. Hello Lillie
I am in love with your recipes. We consider ourselves “foodies” at our house and when I first started counting my macros I was worried the food would be tasting the same, like cardboard. Last night we made your cinnamon rolls and loved them! The week before we went camping and made your turkey burgers with fig jam and fell in love. I love your trader joes recommendations and the extra time you take to tell us how you use each item. I am so grateful for you and your taste in food with the perfect recipes. Thank you thank you thank you!! Truly, your cooking is magic and has been a life saver since I have started macro counting.
