Spaghetti squash is KEY when counting macros–well all the time, really. Because more veggies 👍 And if counting macros matters to you, then spaghetti squash is an easy way to bulk up your meal without adding a lot of extra calories. And it’s also a delicious and great veggie base for several of my favorite recipes! So here are 6 of my macro-friendly spaghetti squash recipes that I really LOVE…
#1 Buffalo Chicken Spaghetti Squash Casserole

This one-dish casserole deserves all the hype! It’s yummy, easy to make, and a total comfort meal. I must admit, this one has blue cheese, which can be controversial…but you can use other cheese if blue cheese isn’t your thing and it still tastes GREAT!
I originally made this for ONE, and it’s been a fan favorite. I mean it’s a warm, cozy casserole with buffalo sauce and cream cheese…what’s not to love?! You can get the full recipe here, enjoy!
#2 Cajun Chicken Spaghetti Squash Skillet

This Cajun Chicken Spaghetti Squash Skillet is another great one to add to your dinner rotation. It has all the goods–zucchini, garlic, CHEESE, etc. And it has killer macros. Get the full details here.
I love making my skillets in big pans that can be on the burner, and then go in the oven for those last bits of cheese to melt on top. I usually reach for this enameled Dutch oven or this cast-iron skillet. Total game-changer.
There are tons of skillet recipes on my blog for you to enjoy like this BBQ Chicken and Butternut Squash Macro-friendly skillet, Zucchini Lasagna Skillet, and this Cauliflower Rice Enchilada are just a few you can try!
Of course, you can also search ‘Lillie Eats and Tells Skillet’ for even more recipes!
#3 Cottage Cheese Spaghetti Squash Marinara
Okay, this one was exclusively on my dinner meal plan, but I decided to share it on Instagram, but it’s still not on the blog officially…errr, besides this post I mean.
This one is so easy and cozy and can pair with most proteins. If you have the app, you can use the meatball recipe to pair with it for ease.

This Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai has all the flavors you love while still being packed full of veggies and chicken. That way you can have a big portion while still hitting your goals. 👍
For this recipe, I love to microwave my spaghetti squash to make things quicker. You can find out how I microwave it here.
This one is great for the whole family! Get the recipe here.
#5 Baked Feta Spaghetti Squash

When I saw the original baked feta pasta going viral from Grilled Cheese Social, I knew I wanted to make a macro-friendly version. And it turned out so good that I had to write it down for all of you.
It’s really easy to make, especially if you microwave your spaghetti squash while the rest is cooking in the oven. The key is to make sure you leave enough time for it to bake though–because it does take a little while, which isn’t helpful if you’re in a rush!
But if you’re ready for creamy, tomato macro-friendly goodness–you can find the full recipe here. Enjoy!
#6 Mushroom and Thyme Baked Feta Spaghetti Squash

This one is cozy, creamy but still a savory side with killer macros! You can have a huge scoop for only 17 carbs 🙌
It’s another one-dish meal, so it’s cooked all in one pan. So easy. And this recipe is meatless, so you can serve it with whatever protein you’ve got!
Shrimp, chicken, or whatever you have leftover from your weekly dinner meal plan bulk protein prep.
And I know mushrooms can be polarizing, but they’re one of my favorite veggies because they’re packed full of vitamins and super low cal for high volume…so if you’re a fellow mushroom lover, you can get this recipe here!
