Air Fryer Blackened Mahi Mahi

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets Mahi Mahi (448 g)
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  • If your fish is frozen, run under water for just a minute so the outside isn’t rock hard and the spices can stick to it. But you don’t need to thaw!
  • Mix the spices together to create the blackening rub. This recipe makes enough seasoning for 4 fillets. Season the fish well with the rub.
  • Spray the fish lightly with a spritz of olive oil. Air fry the Mahi Mahi for 10-12 minutes (if cooking from frozen) or until the internal temperature of the fish reaches 137 degrees F. The fish should flake easily with a fork. If your fish is already thawed, adjust the cooking time to 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove the fish from the air fryer and let it rest for a minute. Squeeze some fresh lemon over the top and enjoy!
